Master program in Smart Systems and Structures
The program merges mechanics, electronics and control for the smart systems and structures of the future. It is organized in 3 specializations, spanning multiple facets of multiphysical systems.
The program aims to train students in fundamental, both theoretical and experimental, physics and in mathematics for physics providing knowledge and lab expertise in photonics, non-linear physics, time & frequency metrology, micro/nano- and quantum technologies, as well as to prepare students to apply fundamental science and engineering approaches to higher-level research and industrial tasks.

The educational program is structured into three programs:
The program focuses on design and control of mechatronics and micro-mechatronics systems with a particular focus on two points: their functional performances and their energetic efficiency. Students are trained to master the area of green mechatronics to be able to design new or re-design existing mechatronic systems, to model and simulate them, to calculate controllers for their automation and their performances improvement, and to setup networks of mechatronic systems, all together with consideration of the energy efficiency. Exchanges with international universities (Canada, Mexico, Peru, Qatar…) are possible during the curriculum. Dual-degree of Master is possible with some of the partner universities. The master is supported by the internationally renowned research center FEMTO-ST (http://femto-st.fr/).
A degree equivalent to or higher than a Bachelor’s degree with a background knowledge in “control systems”.

The program is focused on the mechanics of structures, with emphasis on vibroacoustics and composites.
A degree equivalent to or higher than a Bachelor’s degree with a background knowledge in solid mechanics, material behavior, mathematical and numerical tools for engineers.

The program aims at providing a mixed training in microtechnology, control and embedded electronics with direct applications in microsystems, instrumentation and robotics. The master is supported by three departments of the internationally renowned research center FEMTO-ST (http://femto-st.fr/).
